Sub Pay = Community Gum Box Break!

I've been asked to substitute a couple of times during the first quarter of the school year.  I've made a deal with myself that if I help out a fellow teacher in the building by subbing during my prep period that the money will go toward baseball cards.

This commitment makes sense for me on a couple of levels:

1). I don't get asked very often to sub, so it's not like I'll be spending a ton of cash.

2). This is money that I wouldn't have had accounted for, so why not baseball cards?
and the best reason...

3). I become really consumed with simply keeping my head above water when basketball season starts.  Teaching is pretty demanding as it is, but throw coaching in on top of it and my baseball card hobby really suffers.   This will be a good way to keep me involved with my blog and the baseball blogging community.

Anyway, a couple of weeks back a teacher had to leave for an appointment mid way through class and I filled in.  Today, my paycheck arrived.  There's a bunch of numbers on that 8.5" by 11" sheet of paper, but here's the most important:

Sweet deal!  $10 for a half-hour!

What can one get within the blogosphere for $10?  Glad you asked.  Community Gum is hosting a box break of eight boxes of Upper Deck from random years Click here to check it out. Now that I have plugged his break on my blog the price of my Chicago Cubs is only $10!

Coincidence?  Why yes it, and a happy one at that!
