2014 Crackin' Wax Holiday Gift Exchange, Part III

It's the day after Christmas and while most have opened all of their presents I'm still going.  Welcome to Part III of my Crackin' Wax Holiday Gift Exchange!

There's five packages left and I'm picking the two skinniest of the five today.

Man, someone went a little crazy with the tape!  No worries, folks, for I will persevere!

Oh my gosh...   Oh my gosh...   Oh my gosh...

I've been looking at this card on eBay for the past couple of months... and I kept telling myself to not pull the trigger, because what if Santa would bring it for me?

Oh Santa, I could kiss you!

Kyle Schwarber was the Cubs' #1 pick this past June.  I'm a bit of an amateur baseball nerd and I had the Cubs picking one of three specific players in the draft, but then they shocked me and all the pundits and took Schwarber out if Indiana University.  I'm so glad they did, because I think he's got the goods.   Wow!

Let's see what's in the next one...

I think this one if was my favorite wrapping paper design that Topher used.  I'm an earth-tone guy for sure.  (Well, outside of my fetish for things done in Cubs blue, of course.)
Woo-Hoo!

Dylan Cease was one of those high school kids who have sign-ability issues, but the Cubs were able to lock him up.
Some say that Cease had the potential of a late #1 pick and I'm hoping he realizes that potential and arrives in Chicago before too long.

These two cards are just gorgeous in hand and I'm super excited about adding them to my collection!

I can't wait for tomorrow to open the last three cards.  This is going to be great!  Thanks again, Topher!

  1. Nice Schwarber!
I remember a few folks saying he was over drafted and probably just picked so the Cubs could allocate resources to other picks (like Cease and his sign ability issues) but he's very good in his own right. Plus unlike the Astros the Cubs actually signed the key guys ;).
