Which one of these things is not like the others?

A. The Hungry Moose restaurant closed
B. A kitten regurgitating in the hallway
C. Cleaning up water in my sister's basement
D. A pack of 2014 Bowman Platinum

Any ideas?

After having an excellent morning run the rest of my day has been less than stellar, highlighted by one of the best breakfast joints in town shutting its doors after ten years.

We've had Holiday and Hugo, our two new kittens, for about five weeks and one of them puked for the first time.  Trust me . . . we did not gush as though it was a baby's first steps or words.

I'm house-sitting while my sister is at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. We've had over five inches of rain in the last week and her basement is not equipped for such a deluge. P-town Tom, meet Shop-Vac.  Shop-Vac, this is P-town Tom.

A, B, and C were all low-lights.  Option D was meant to be a catalyst to turn my day around.

Can a pack of 2014 Bowman Platinum help this poor middle-aged sap find a silver lining to the day?  Let's find out!

I really like this Prince Fielder card.  Anytime I see one of his cards it reminds of one of the best home run celebrations ever.
Gio Gonzalez is not the pitcher he used to be, but he is sporting the high socks.  Nice.

Domingo Santana?  I don't know who you are, but I like the solid orange jersey top.
Brian Goodwin?   I don't know who you are, but I like the solid blue jersey top.

I think I may have a thing for solid jersey tops.

Woot-woot!
Winner-winner-chicken-dinner!

Javy may be injured, but he was tuning the strikeouts down and really starting to mash.  He's actually the leading vote getter for the AAA All-Star game.  Huh.  I didn't know fans were able to vote for that game.  Nice.

Does a Javy Baez 2015 Bowman Platinum card trump the restaurant closing/hairball/wet basement trifecta?

Heck yeah it does!

Simple pleasures, man.  Simple pleasures.

Thanks for stopping by and have a Javy weekend.
