I gave the Peoria Chiefs a call and booked a private suite for the 13th. We had a nice quiet meal.
It was truly a delight to get out of the house and spend a distraction free evening with the one I love.
Laura was given roses when we checked in and we had a couple of drinks while we waited for our suite to become available. Once in the suite we were served an appetizer of ricotta and roasted tomato crostini, followed by a pair of house salads and bread. I had pre-ordered from the menu and we wound up sharing the entrées of chicken roulade and carved strip loin. For dessert we had devoured six tasty chocolate covered strawberries.
We may have had a view of the ballpark, but it certainly wasn't your typical ballpark food!
This morning Laura gave me wonderful card, which plays off one of the inside jokes that tend to develop over the course of a marriage. (She really enjoys butter!)
Happy Valemtine's Day!
Man, I should've booked a suite from the SI Yankees for my Valentines Day surprise. Then again it's been butt-cold over here so maybe it was for the better.
ReplyDeleteHappy V-Day Tom!
My wife and I have a Valentine's Day tradition that started while we were dating. She loves the hot wings at Hooters, so that's where our V-Day lunch/dinner always takes place. In fact, we just got back!
ReplyDeleteHooters! That's great! But, I don't think my wife would go for that.
DeleteNothing like a romantic evening at Hooters!
DeleteWe are getting ready to go out in Kauai for dinner
ReplyDeleteNow, Kauai on the other hand. I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind going to Kauai for Valemtine's Day!
DeleteI hope you had a good time!
My wife and I are always running about two months behind for dinners. We went out on Friday, but it was a belated anniversary dinner. Our anniversary is New Years Eve....
ReplyDeleteI know all about those belated dinners that Matt mentioned. What a great idea you had for V-day. Nice!
